Surgery Scar on Face

Postby sram868 » Tue Mar 20, 2012 12:52 pm

Hello,
I had an accident a month ago and i had to undergo an suture in my forehead and in my chin.
Surgery Information:Wound Debrided, Haemostasis checked and repaired with 5-0 Prolene.
1. This is the photo -day after the suture removal. The sutures were removed after 6 days.

2. After two weeks, when i feel no pain or iritation on the wound i started using Mederma cream.
3. This is the photo- 1 Month after.

I really worry whether this will scar and leave a ugly mark in my face. Please advise some treatments and the time line for it.

Thank you.

hard to say if this will scar well or badly. time will tell. obviously, no consideration should be made for revision short of 6 months but preferably no less than 1 year. silicone gel is recommended. mederma in my opinion does not do a lot. you might consider KTP or pulsed dye laser for it and if anything starts to get thick then the use of 5FU injections.
best,

i have no consultations i can offer in india. honestly, i do not think it matters what brand of silicone gel you use. there is scar guard or scar fade and kelo-cote as some options.
