This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on managing, treating, and correcting acne scarring. (Of note, Dr. Lam is focused principally on acne scarring rather than on managing the ongoing condition of acne, which a dermatologist would be better equipped to address.)
hello, dr. lam. I was considering coming in for acne scar correction and stumbled upon your before and afters. I noticed that the results were very minimal, at best. I know acne scars are very hard to treat, but have you received better results than the ones you're displaying? Those are very underwhelming..
everything is relative. i can only improve acne scarring not eliminate it. anyone showing you "better" results is lying to you. you simply cannot get near perfect results with acne scarring. it is always disappointing. even though i believe i take care of more people with acne scarring through unique methods than most doctors in the world, i am never 100% happy with my results. however, i believe i get better results than almost anyone out there. in fact, 80% of my patients are failures elsewhere that i help improve (but not get perfect). if you find them underwhelming, please do not come visit me. i understand you may have certain perception of where you want to be but most likely i will not deliver the results that you are looking for.

i always say that the difference between an education and an excuse is that an education is given to you before you pay money and an excuse is exactly the same thing but told you to after you do. i only offer education not excuses. s.
