Depression/atrophy after the keloid injections

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

Hi Dr.Lam,

I had a eyelid/canthus surgery done last year. My body is prone to keloid scar type but not every scar.So far I have one on my elbow and the other is close to my eyes. The Doctor treated right away by injecting the certain keloid injections on both of my canthuses. As the final result of the injections,my keloids are gone, but left 2 depression, which more likely a atrophy. They are very OBVIOUS! Now I am looking for a treatment to plump it up SAFELY and permanent.I can't take any risk anymore.

1.Do you have any suggestion?
2.Filler or fat transferring?
3.I know some permanent fillers are not revisable,so I am still kinda scared of that.So what kind filler should I start off?

Thank you so much!!

fat won't work. too unpredictable to fill such a small area. you may want to go with a temporary filler like Restylane first especially if you go to someone who is not an experienced injector to make sure it is done right. Artefill, which is permanent could be an alternative but make sure you go to someone who knows what he is doing since this area is so thin. for Artefill, you need a skin test first and it may require a couple of rounds since you do lose a little bit of the collagen that is in the product.
best,
