Hi Dr. Lam,
I'm working with a surgical supplies company, and we're in the process of building a new catalogue devoted to plastic surgery. I thought it would be a good idea to get some feedback from a plastic surgeon in order to build our catalogue in the most convenient way.
When it comes to categories, would you prefer a catalogue to be organized purely by the type of tool, or by common procedures (i.e. a Rhinoplasty section)?
Would the availability of pre-built sets be useful to you, or would you prefer to just order specific parts separately?
If you already have a supplier for your plastic surgery instruments, what are some specific traits of their catalogue that you find to be helpful or problematic, and what changes would you make to them if you could?
When you go to buy instruments, do you know already exactly what you need, or do you prefer to compare different products?
Is depth or breadth of selection more important to you? Would you prefer to be able to purchase everything from one supplier, or to go to a few different specialized companies to get what you need?
Edit: What is your opinion on the inclusion of electrosurgical products? How about endoscopic products?
If you have staff who handles this for you, could you please redirect these questions to them?
Thank you for your time!
