Gullwing Lip Lift not healing well

Postby Hopeful » Thu Feb 23, 2012 6:25 pm

I had a Gullwing Lip Lift performed approx. 5 months ago. The edges of my lip are bumpy and still bright red. One side has an identation in it and the end of my mouth now has line on each side of my face that points downward. It looks sort of like a frown.
The lip line/scar is really effecting my life. I am avoiding people and places because of it and would like to know if you could suggest anything, give me some advice about discussing this with my doctor when I go next week. If you could help me I would be willing to come there.
I have taken some pics I will send you in a private message but not sure by looking at them you can really see what is going on with it.
Let me know what you think. From my own research maybe dermabrasion and a little filler at the indentation. I am so afraid now I am not sure I could even make a decision. I did not have an upper lip at all and ask that it be very conservative. It is too big for my bottom lip now and the thing in the middle of my lip protrudes. To make things worse I have developed Fordyce Spots on my lips that now show since the lips are turning outward.
Anyway, with all that said please tell me you can help.
Sincerely,
Hopeful

hi,
i reviewed your photos and did respond. i would say that your scar should continue to improve over time. you can use KTP laser gently on there or IPL or if not just give it time to heal. scars should continue to improve. to fix the big upper lip i can either do a conservative upper lip reduction or fill your bottom lip to match.
best,

What preferred filler would you fill the bottom lip with?

permanently speaking: silicone. temporary: juvederm or restylane.
