Nose Job Problem

Postby iamseyrarice » Thu Feb 23, 2012 6:32 am

hi dr.lam

my sister's nose job had a problem just this last week, to be honest i dont know the exact details but from what i heard her nose first started swelling and then suddenly white liquid is coming out of her nose, then she visited a doctor, and the doctor said that she has to undergo an operation to undo the nose job and remove the silicone because it might become dangerous if it goes to her brain.

Now the problem is my sister doesnt want to do the surgery first until next month because of an upcoming event and she doesn't want people to see her nose prior to the nose job that she had.

MY question is....will the situation get worst if she didnt get the surgery right away and left it the way it is til next month, or it would be fine if she undergo surgery next month?

P.S:she said that she's taking medicine and that the medicine somehow stopped the flowing of the white liquid. Thanks alot in advance

hi,
i really make it a point not to dispense medical advice on here because i am not taking care of you as a physician. in general when an implant is infected it is best to get it out early. however, in general (and not necessarily in your case), if the antibiotic is controlling or holding the infection then that is a decent sign that things may be safe.
best,
