Rhinoplasty swelling

Postby citeeofangels » Mon Feb 13, 2012 1:07 pm

Hi Dr. Lam,

I am a late 20s Asian female and I am about 2 months post-op from my rhinoplasty procedure and was curious when does the bridge become more visible and prominent after a nose job? I figure at 2 months, I would at least see a lil bit of bridge definition but there seems to be none, is it too soon to judge? If so, when can I expect to see a visible bridge to appear as I really long for such definition. My hump was also reduced but there's still a slight bump there, is this normal? Shouldnt it have disappeared when my PS shaved it down? Also, I was curious as to what are the last few parts of the nose that settles down after a rhinoplasty? Thanks for your time.

hi,
as always i refer you to your surgeon for the best answer because it depends on how much work was done, how much swelling you underwent, and how gentle your surgeons' hands are. 2 months is still early in the larger scheme of things. i recommend taping to my patients at night but you should check with your surgeon if that is what he is recommending. swelling and refinement continue for many months if not slightly for years.
