I have a mole right under my nose on left side. It's been there for almost 20 years now. It's black in color and slightly raised. But now I have decided to get it removed so I was wondering what's the best technique to go for it.

not an easy location. would probably shave and burn it first to shrink the area then try to close primarily going parallel along the nasolabial groove. possibly could go straight to excision too.

Thanks for the advice doctor...One of the esthetician here recommended me to go with Electrocautery mole removal...she told me that she will do 2 treatments and it will never come back and is charging 700 dollars....what do u thinks about that?
as you may have seen in this forum, i believe that electrocautery almost always fails but it might be a few years before it comes back. try it and see. worst case scenario is that it needs to be excised down the road.

Alright, its been over 2 weeks since my procedure. Chose to shave it using radio frequency. Is Electrocautery, radio freqency?
So now instead of it being raised, Its gone but still have color under the skin. I was wondering, will the sun affect it (Worsen/increase the mole growth)?
the color probably represents mole that is still there that ultimately will require excision since it will probably come back. the sun should not affect it except it could lead to some hyper pigmentation or darkening temporarily. s.
