mole removal by a irresponsible doctor. Worried!

Postby currykakari » Fri Nov 18, 2011 4:32 am

Hi Dr Lam
Please help! I had my mole removed at the chin by excision method. It was done 5 days ago and I just removed the stiches today . No medicine or ointment was given to me. I went to get ciprofloxacin hydrochloride gel at the pharmacy to apply on the wound. Can it works to aid healing or prevention infection? As for anti scar gel Contractubex, when can I start using it? I tried asking my doctor but he keep saying no medicine is needed. But I'm really worried as I'm afraid that there will be bad scarring. Please help!

as far as cipro cream, that does not seem necessary but again ask your doctor. if your gel is silicone based then i typically wait until about 3 days after sutures are out. :)
