Radiesse/cheek implants/ need a lift.

Postby Woodstock81 » Sun Nov 06, 2011 6:33 pm

Hi Dr. Lam,

I had a bad Staph infection of the cheek back in 2008. I had Bio alcamid in my cheeks at the time. The infection went deep; I had to get all of the BA expressed and unfortunately, most of my fat in my cheeks came out as well. My surgeon waited for a year and put cheek implants in to help restore my face. He put Radiesse on my cheeks as well. I have a Radiesse nodule (calcium deposit) that needs removed. Have you ever removed something like this?

Second question, because I have Radiesse in my cheeks, can I still have a mini cheek lift?

Thanks in advance!

1. i no longer do radiesse because after many treatments it becomes really firm under the skin.
2. as far as a nodule is concerned, i have not really removed them but you could probably take an 18G needle and have the doctor try to break it up through the skin. cutting it out would lead to as scar.
3. radiesse should not prevent a mid-face lift. however, as you probably know i am opposed to those lifts because no one really needs one. the mid face does not sag, it just empties. it just needs more volume.
best,

Hi Dr. Lam!
I will send you pictures of my lips so that you can get a better idea of how large they are. Also, once a person has Radiesse over cheek implants (like I have), can you perform a fat graft over the implants and do you put fat in the orbital rim (under eye) area?

Thanks in advance!

Another question: Radiesse is injected into a different layer of the skin, so just wondering if fat grafting (being that it is injected much deeper) can be placed in my cheeks post Radiesse?

Thanks again!
