This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions addressing linear scars, depressed scars, keloid scars, hypertrophic scars, and other facial reconstructive topics. (Of note, Dr. Lam no longer accepts medical insurance so he rarely manages cancer reconstruction or trauma anymore.)
as i replied in my personal email to you, i am posting my responses here:
you can do a light laser like KTP for the redness and to modulate the scar. silicone gel can also help like scar guard or kelo cote. i would wait at least a year before revising because it could heal without need for revision over time. also, he will handle things much better at the age of 6 years old. if he does need a scar revision, i can do it a year from now but he also would have to be done most likely in a hospital because he would probably not handle local anesthesia.
best, sml
