Hate my rhinoplasty .. I want to go back to my old self!

Dr. lam,

I am an asian female who just went thru a rhinoplasty with a under qualify doctor. I am 12 days post ops. My cast was removed day 7 and i was horrified that frontal view I had no shape , a bridge that stick up too high and rest of my nose was just a big mess. I nearly died. I need your help to answer the questions so I know what are my next steps:
1 My doctor told me it was very swollen still and it's normal to look that way! Is that true?
2 can a deformed nose become a good nose?
3 the bridge looks way too high ... Is it from swollen?
4 how soon can I get it removed? The bridge is gor Tex he also did the tip
5 can I ever look like myself again? I always been called attractive and pretty... So I never hated my nose but just wanted enhancement .
I really want to get this removed and get on with life again. This is a BIG lessons learned, never to rush on something as important as your face!
Thank you

first of all, i make it a point not to respond to questions from someone immediately out from surgery because your surgeon should be the one who knows the answers and can more appropriately answer them. that being said, yes, only a week or so after surgery you can have anywhere from minimal to significant swelling that hopefully will continue to go down. i wish i could answer your questions more specifically but at least be comforted to know that you can have a lot of swelling in the immediate postoperative weeks leading to results that may not look as good as you desire.
best,
sml
