Lip reduction

Postby midnightpixie » Tue Oct 04, 2011 5:47 pm

Dear Doctor,
I had a semipermanent filler (Dermalive) injected in both my lips 6 years ago. I've been satisfied with the results for some time, but then, due to a weightloss and/or maybe to a change in the perception of them over the years, I've grown unhappy with their overall look. I don't think they're awful, I just think they've been "overplumped", a little less would have been perfect. That's why I would like to shrink them a little bit, in order to get back a more natural and overall harmonious look.
What do you think honestly? Do you think my lips have that much hyper corrected look I should undergo the operation and run the risks that go with it?
I also thought that lips naturally shrink with age, and maybe when I'll be around 45 (I'm 33 now) I would regret having reduced them since they will naturally go down a little bit.
p.s please note that I have a scar on the right side of the bottom lip due to an accident I had 3 years ago, where I had suture stitches applied, that has resulted in an increased volume of the part itself
Regards

honestly, they have a slightly fake look to them, especially the top lip. i would truly consider reducing both if not at least the top lip. i truly believe that it will age well for you over time since as you get older they would actually look progressively more unnatural if you did not do anything.
best,

Dr.
These lips have caused me years of ridicule as a child and as an adult they have had a negative impact on my professional life. I've recently started researching remedies and I stumbled across your information and testimonials on the web. Attached is a picture. What do you think? I have ethnic lips as well as some lip damage from an old sports injury.
