Im I a candidate for scar revision?

Postby lmjsierra » Sat Sep 17, 2011 11:38 pm

Hello,
I was in a car accident 14 years ago and got 14 stitches by my right eyebrow. Over the past few months I have been pondering scar revision. I am located in Denver, Colorado and there is no scar revision doctors that do any special techniques such as W-plasty and Geometric broken line closure. I went to a dermatologist and he suggested CO2 laser resurfacing. I decided to do it hoping my scar would diminish. It didnt make much of a difference. I really want scar revision done and I am willing to travel but does my CO2 laser resurfacing cancel me out as a scar revision candidate???? :(

I attached a picture. The scar goes through my eyebrow which has caused disruption in my eyebrow I am hoping to get scar revision 1st then getting an eyebrow implant....

thanks for sending the photos. they are hard to see any linear scar tissue. in other words, i don't know if a scar revision would help. there is in fact a chance of it worsening. i don't think i would recommend surgery based at least on the photos. i don't have a great answer for you. if the lost hair is missing, then yes an eyebrow transplant can work for you but as far as the actual scar i don't have a good suggestion based on the photos.
best,

samlammd@yahoo.com. but to be honest i should be able to see a scar at the resolution you sent. if i can't and you have to really magnify it and look really carefully, i don't think it should be done.
