Botox for Migraines

needing more info on botox for migraines and muscle pain..does it help and for how long?
anyone ever had it for migraines?

yes, it works wonderfully. however, i typically ask the question if the migraine feels like it is coming from outside or from inside the head. if it comes from outside source then typically botox works very well. if it emanates from inside the head then it can be (but not necessarily) less effective.

How many Botox injections/units are typically required for migraines? Also, which areas are injected?

that really depends. if it is in the occipital region (back of the head), a few units can do it. if you are dealing with the front of the head, you need to inject it evenly so it can take the normal amount used to treat wrinkles.

if the headache comes from inside the head, the Botox is less effective. if it comes from outside inward, it is more effective. :)
