thanks ricky. the swelling is normal. it will settle down. silicone should improve the area early on (minus the false expectation of swelling during the first week) and later on (after 2 to 3 months). the earliest time i would consider another possible treatment would be at a minimum of 3 months but you could wait any time longer. i would most likely not need more than 1 to 2 to improve the situation. remember, i cannot fix it entirely just improve it but you really do not look that bad. acne scars are not helped at all with microderm. i could possibly do silicone but i need to see you again to look at them. there would not be extra charge for the silicone to do other areas btw. thanks again for the kind remarks. have a safe and fun time in dallas while you are here.
best,

hey Dr Lam

I am leaving texas in a few days and was wondering if I would need any more treatments before I leave. For example do i need a laser to deal with any redness around the wound, or would I have to wait 3 months before you can do a laser of any sort, any dermabrasion or any more silicone filler.

Kind Regards

Ricky :D

Hi dr lam

I had silicone injections with you about a month and a half ago. the results are good, however just yesterday underneath the scar a very small lump is forming. the area is a little bit red and there is a little bit of swelling. Is there anything i can do to prevent it from getting worse.

THANKS

Ricky

it isnt too bad. there is just some redness, which makes the scar look bigger.

thanks

whatever is going on should subside. just don't pick at it or play with it.

Dear Dr Lam

The lump seems to have some pus in it. Could it be infected. Is there anything i can do to help this lump to reduce in size and swelling.

best

yes, if there is pus then it is infected. you should have a local doctor see it and start you on antibiotics for your skin like cephalosporin or biaxin.

hi dr lam

Hope all is well

in the last few weeks i have started to feel something on the side of my eyes, in sort of my eyebag area. you can barely make out the bump, it feels like a bit of swelling. the area is quite far away from where i had the micro silicone droplets. I was just wonderering could this be silicone. my appearance has improved. but i can feel a constant pressure in that area. any ideas on what it could be.

no impossible. silicone does not migrate at small doses. :)

hey dr lam

The results from the silicone are looking great. the only slight problem i have is this bump, any ideas on what it could be, as you said silicone does not migrate is it possible it could not be related to the silicone. Mind you i have only had silicone microdroplet injection once by you. I have read on the internet stories of people being severely disfigured from silicone and so it has scared me quite a bit. although you cant see the bump i feel it and it tingles a bit.

Thanks

Ricky

could be an inflamed lymph node. could be caused by a recent cold, skin infection, sinus problem, allergy or a number of things. have a physician see it if you need an eval though since i am not seeing you in person.
