New scar on chin

Postby Mauri » Sat Jul 23, 2011 11:24 am

Hello,

I have a new scar on my chin. The Injury was May 15th and needed 4 or 5 stitches. I have been massaging and putting hot compress on it since the stitches were removed.

The 1st pic is July 1. The 2nd is July 9th. The 3rd pic is July 15th.

I use dermablend and small band aids to keep the UV ray dis-colorization. Thank for any advice.

Is there a substantial aesthetic change in after the 2nd month? I am worried about the indentation and the whitish color of the scar line.

Is scar revision or an implant a possible procedure to reduce the visibility of my scar?

And I noticed if I pull back on my skin just a little bit (underneath my chin) it pulls the scar out of sight. Is there a procedure that could do that permanently?

I appreciate you help very much.

the white pigmentation may not come back but the line and possibly the depression could improve over time. if not, then a scar revision removing the white tissue, lifting the depression, and irregularizing the line may be needed. i would wait at least 6 months and if you see nice improvement by 6 months you might want to wait a year. if you don't, then consider a scar revision in 6 months or later.
best,
