Downtime for silikon 1000 in lips

Postby Heart » Sun Jul 17, 2011 9:02 am

Sorry to have so many questions.
How long is the usual average downtime from having Silikon to the lips? How many hours or days until one can socially mingle again (a little swelling is ok but no very obvious swelling).
Do you think after 24 hours the lips would be back to a normal, slightly swollen stage? Is the upper lip usually more sensitive and more swollen than the lower one?
Thanks so much.

if there is no bruising then oftentimes a day or so. if there is bruising then could be 1 to 2 weeks. if it bruises into the white lip then that is bad but rare. if it bruises just in the red lip, then you can oftentimes cover it. however, as mentioned in my other post, i am willing to try the microcannula technique with micropulses of silikon. i should hopefully be able to avoid both bruising and swelling with that technique.
best,

Dr. Lam
I wanted to ask if you have been using microcannulas for silikon 1000 and what your results have been. I work for a plastic surgeon myself and yesterday she injected silikon 1000 with a microcannula and because I hadn't seen or heard of that in my years of practice, I thought to look more into it and found you. Any idea of the variable from the microcannula than a needle? A few years ago another doctor had used a needle and I could hear her struggling to push the plunger down and I had considerable swelling, pain bruising. Surprisingly enough, no pain and minimal swelling from yesterday.

Thoughts?

i am inching toward doing that. my friend in Canada has been experimenting with that. i am getting close to feeling comfortable to start. just don't want any migration issues.

I can definitely update you as the process continues and send you pictures in about a month also. So far the initial swelling has gone down but still looks quite nice. Her technique is very different from what I've been reading and seems like only a few are taking the risk to use silikon with microcannulas. Is there an email I can send pictures to?

Thanks. Got the images but hard for me to check since I am traveling in Italy right now. Again it is not so much the short term that means anything to me but long term migration issues.
