Forehead/Hairline lowering?

Postby euraznbost » Sun Jul 10, 2011 11:04 am

Hi Dr Lam.
I was wondering not only if you are familiar with or perform forehead lowering, but what such a procedure would entail both during and after surgery. I believe I would be a good candidate as I have a full head of hair and at 23 have no signs of balding or a receding hairline. My forehead is VERY high, and people have always made comments about it (plenty not-so-nice comments as well, which have only made me more self-conscious about this). My hairline could be moved down 1.5 or even 2 inches and still be considered a high forehead, I think. I've attached a picture showing the distance between my eyebrows and my hairline, although a similar picture in profile might better show just how high my hairline is. I'm tired of having to have bangs or wear bandannas to cover my forehead, especially in the summertime. And I think I could have much more versatile hairstyles if my forehead wasn't so big.

Thank you for your time,
Richard

in short, no. too much of a risk. if you are talking about a surgical incision, that is really dangerous if what i am seeing that you are a male. the reason is that if you have ANY recession over time you will have a terrible visible scar. if you are talking about a transplant, also dangerous but just a shade less dangerous still very bad, because you have not "declared" yourself. who knows what will happen in a few years then you will run out of donor hair and have an unnatural result. even if you think you are not losing hair the risk is still way way way way too high.
best,
sml
