This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)
Hi I'm a male, 33, and have bags under my eyes. I'm tired of people telling me I look tired or sick, and am trying to find out what option/s are best suited for my situation. Here are some pics to give you an idea of where I'm at. What do you think?

hi, 1. first, if there are changes or fluctuations, i would check with an allergist. you look slightly swollen. don't know if it is related to allergies. 2. the undereye area looks more hollow than baggy. i would suggest restylane under the eyes instead of fat transfer for two reasons. one, it is a lot less expensive and easier to do for someone who just needs lower eyelids managed. second, it is more predictable in your case since i am targeting just a small problem. it will last you many months to years. i saw a 15 year old girl that is now 21 years old and born with "eyebags" in whom i did restylane for her 6 or 7 years ago and it is still holding. it is also reversible since i want to make sure that it would age well for you. obviously, i cannot promise that kind of longevity but i believe after 2 to 3 rounds over time, it really leads to very durable results. also, this may sound arrogant but i fill it more safely and better than my colleagues. if you do not use me, find someone who does a good job. i use microcannulas (non-needle) so there is a safe, non-bruised, and smooth result. best, sml

I have had the thought that perhaps it is allergy related. No one else in my family has this problem so it just seems odd that I would. However I as far as I know I don't have any allergies. This is something I began to notice about 4 or 5 years ago and I don't notice any fluctuations at all. Would you recommend seeing an allergist anyway before going with a cosmetic procedure?
I live on the East Coast. I think I would rather pay more and/or travel to go to a good doctor. I've heard horror stories about people who use fillers and get bumps on their skin that make them look worse. Is this something that you are ever concerned about when you use fillers? Thanks your recommendation was unexpected. I thought you would say fat transfer.
not a bad idea to see an allergist but if you have no symptoms most likely this is just early aging. i am very comfortable with my injection skills. obviously, there is always a risk of bumps, etc. but pretty rare in my hands.
