scar treatment

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on managing, treating, and correcting acne scarring. (Of note, Dr. Lam is focused principally on acne scarring rather than on managing the ongoing condition of acne, which a dermatologist would be better equipped to address.)

scar treatment

Postby dkaplan74 » Thu Jun 30, 2011 3:18 pm

Hello Dr. Lam. My name is Daniel. I live here in Dallas. I wanted to know what course of treatment you would recommend for my scars. Maybe TCA cross? Thanks.

based on the photos, they look more like CROSS TCA than silicone but there may be room for silicone if i see you in person. probably 2 to 4 rounds is my best guess spread out over 6 weeks to 3 month intervals but again i reserve judgment until i see you in person.
best,

Do they look like ice pick scars? And no sort of resurfacing should be needed?

ice pick scars is a confusing term. i don't like using that because it really describes way too many shades of gray. in short though, i do not think resurfacing would benefit you tremendously but again i would have to see you. i think the CROSS is the way to go based on the photos.
