TCA cross following Fraxel:Repair

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on managing, treating, and correcting acne scarring. (Of note, Dr. Lam is focused principally on acne scarring rather than on managing the ongoing condition of acne, which a dermatologist would be better equipped to address.)

TCA cross following Fraxel:Repair

Postby pennypina » Tue Jun 07, 2011 12:34 pm

Hi Dr. Lam,

I had fraxel:repair done a week ago and was wondering when I can do a TCA cross. Would you say a months time is okay? Do you know of any physicians that perform TCA cross in the Tucson/Phoenix or LA/San Diego area? I have seen your before and after pictures on realself.com and your work on facial scarring is awesome.

This next question I have is difficult to word...would I have to schedule 2 separate face-to-face appointments, one for the consultation and one for the actual procedure with you or can it be done back-to-back? I am interested in the TCA cross for enlarged pores and a few icepick scars.

Thanks!!!

hi,
1. i would probably wait a few months (3 months) until you finish all series of fraxel because TCA is a whopper of a treatment and i don't want them to interfere with each other.
2. i don't know anyone that does this well at least. i just fixed someone from LA with a disaster from TCA done there.
3. you can do the consult and treatment the same day but i would prefer you first send me a private photo either as a PM or to my personal email samlammd@yahoo.com just to make sure you are a candidate.
best,
sml

Hi Dr. Lam,

I do not plan on doing anymore fraxel treatments. Do I still have to wait 3 months after my last fraxel treatment?

Thanks for the speedy reply :)

Dr. Lam,

Do you think it would be okay for me to do TCA cross myself provided I start at a lower concentration? Or, is this a bad idea?

Thanks :)

BAD IDEA!!! anything less than 100% is not that effective (but still dangerous). i just fixed a guy from LA who has major holes due to an unlicensed practitioner doing it. i am barely fixing him back to normal but not even close. CROSS is one of the most dangerous things on the planet if done by an inexperienced individual.
