I watched your tutorial on youtube and I found it very informative. I have a raised mole on the tip of my right nostril. It sits more towards the center of my nostril, but it's located at the very tip. I've had it for my entire life. I'm finally getting the courage to have it removed. I've went for two consulations with a plastic surgeon. One Dr said shave it, the other said excise it. I wondered if you can refer me to a plastic surgeon in Philadelphia area that has a similar technique as you. I'm very worried about it looking deformed when they remove it because it's on the tip on my nostril. I don't want my right nostril to look smaller then my left. I'm willing to travel an hour or two if you know of a doctor a bit further away. My zipcode is 19129. Thanks so much,

hi,
i don't have a recommendation for you for a physician, but you need to know that you cannot excise it typically if it is on the tip of your nose. if you just cut it out and try to close it it will lead to distortion even if it is a small excision. for nasal tip surgery, you have to do a bilobed flap in many cases which is very deforming with crisscross lines across your nose for a year if not indefinitely. you also have to make sure that the incisions are deep below the skin surface in the right plane known as the SMAS. in summary, i would most likely shave it and risk a recurrence because in 95% of the cases excision (even if done the right way as explained) carries too much risk of scarring or if done the wrong way real problems. those are my initial thoughts.
