Hello Dr. Lam,

I have a scar down my nose from an incident 5 months ago. We have discussed this in the past and you recommended GBLR surgery (Geometric Broken Line Revision) followed by dermabrasion.

I went to see a facial plastics surgeon in my local area and he recommended I see a laser specialist as an "early intervention" , less aggressive approach. The specific lasers he thought might work were Nd:YAG or Pulsed Dye. The surgeon suggested it would shrink the width of the scar.

I am going to see the specialist in on Friday. Any thoughts or questions you think I should ask?

in short, ABSOLUTELY NOT. not only will it not work, you will make my chances at a good GBLR much lower since you destroy the surrounding skin. the best time to do lasers and dermabrasion is AFTER a GBLR.
