Hi Dr. Lam, I'm pretty pleased with my nose but I do think it could be slightly improved so it helps proportion my bigger head and round face. However, I want a natural look and I would like to increase the bridge so I can wear glasses (by 2mm) and my nostrils flare out slightly and would like the to point forward rather than outward. My issue is going under the procedure without letting any of my family or spouse know b/c they would all be against it. I also want it to look natural enough so I can go back to work and they don't notice my new nose. I live in New York and you are in Dallas so how do you treat patients that are not in the city that you are? Also, I hear some doctors say that Gortex has only one maker and not all of Gortex sheets can accommodate every face's features. Is that true?
you are preaching to the choir about natural results. i cannot promise you that no one in your family will know. that is something you have to figure out what you are comfortable telling them. there are two companies that make gore-tex sheets, surgiform and implantech. to me, they are both the same. you maybe thinking of large blocks, which i do not use. the sheets are pretty much identical. as far as those that fly in, i can do a phone consult with you but prefer obviously to do a live consult. if i do a phone consult, i would see you the day before the surgery for an in-depth evaluation and preop and you would then fly back the day after the surgery. in an ideal world, i would remove sutures at a week. if not, i could probably have a colleague do it for you at a week in new york. look forward to take care of you when you are ready. if you want to proceed, just call my office 972-312-8188 9-5 M-F CDT. sml
