Botox causing eyelids to droop

Postby LisaBe » Fri Apr 22, 2011 7:13 pm

Hi Dr. Lam,
I have reviewed the info on Botox on your site and have found it to be very informative. I had Botox performed a month ago for the first time and it caused my eyelids to droop and appear very hooded. I already have heavy eyelids and now I look like a Bald Eagle. The PS injected 25 units in the corrugator muscles and kept asking me to squint while he injected. He probably injected in 8 spots between the eyes and above my eyebrows. Does 25 units sound like overkill and is there anything I can do to correct this?

injection of the corrugators leads typically to elevating your eyelids not dropping them unless some of it bled into the forehead. 25 units is reasonable. however, if injections were done to the forehead then that is why you are drooping. if you did not get your crow's feet done and you are drooping mainly on the outer parts of your eyes, then injecting the crow's feet can help partially reverse the hooding laterally, i.e., on the outer part of the eye.
