lower lip question

Postby liphelp87 » Sun Apr 17, 2011 3:21 am

Dear Dr. Lam i have been wanting to get lip reduction surgery on my lower lip, i was wondering if you think i would be a good candidate for just the bottom lip. It hangs down and has a dropping look too it. I want it to be more tucked in and even with my top lip i am mixed (black and white) any advice would be greatly appreciated, and if you could go into a little detail regarding how you could help me i would be greatful. look forward to hearing from you soon have a nice day. :)

ps. i am in the process of saving and should have the money within a year.

your photos are a bit underexposed but i can still see what you are talking about. you are a good candidate for an isolated lower lip reduction or a combined upper and lower lip reduction. if i saw you in person i would get a better read on it. the concern of just doing the bottom lip is that the top lip might then look to big in your case. the concern of doing both lips is that there might be too much upper teeth show. when i see you in person smiling, mouth open, and mouth closed, i can get a better read on it. the degree of reduction of the bottom lip would depend if i did your top lip. sometimes i can do a bit more if the top lip is also reduced so that they remain in balance. if you are a candidate for a top lip reduction (based on what i stated above), then i would recommend it. if you are not, then i would adjust my bottom lip reduction based on those facts.
best,

Dear Dr. Lam i really Appreciate the fast response. I was wanting to post a couple more pics for you to look at that is in better light and might give you a better idea of how you could help, Because i heard you where the best and i didn't want to have a novice working on me. It is kinda hard to tell where my wet and dry lip meets from viewing the pics but its right above the shinny part in the middle of my lip. (if that makes any sense)
I think that i would benefit the most from just the bottom because i don't have much of a top lip to start with and my teeth are a little buck and my top lip hides it pretty good. :D. i was also wondering by looking at the new pics do you think i would be able to achieve a more tucked in and less drooping look, because the pics you see with my mouth open are my lips at rest. i really appreciate you taking the time out to help me.

ps. i know you cant do quotes on this form but is there some one i could e-mail to get a quote?

Dear Dr. lam i spoke with you a couple months ago and i am close to having enough money to see you and had a couple more question i want to ask if i could. I was wondering. when i fly there would i be able to do the consultation one day and the surgery the next to avoid having to fly back a 2nd time. and also, i know u don't normally have to do a second lip reduction but in my case given the size of my lip, i was wounding if it cost the 2nd time if i had to come back for a second surgery.
