Lip reduction in a selected area

Postby ahappycamper » Fri Apr 01, 2011 3:47 am

Hi Dr. Lam,

Is it possible to remove a wedge of lip on the outside where the white and red lip area meet? I'm okay with the overall fullness of my lips, but I want a more articulated shape, particularly in the vermillion border where most people have the cupid's bow meet with the white lip. I have a relatively straight lip and I have used filler to augment part of the cupid's bow but it didn't give me a enough of a result.

Basically, the area between where the two philtral ridge connects with the red upper lip. I would want a wedge taken out of between there, in the shape of a small little "U" or "V" shapeI have heard though that the scarring can be quite traumatic even in a very light skinned Asian person like myself.

no, in my opinion this is not possible and is highly dangerous. i think the worst lip scars occur at the vermilion borders. this is why lip advancements almost always look dreadful even with a bucket of makeup trying to cover the scar. think twice about this.
best,
