upper lip

Postby vehicross » Tue Mar 29, 2011 12:48 pm

Dr. lam
I have had many surgeries on my upper lip. Now there to a point that my left upper lip is not even with my upper right lip which is smooth. I have also had fat grafts on my upper lip. Point is that I feel them big all the time. Like my upper lip protrudes (look like a duck) My last surgeon told me to keep applying pressure but I've had this surgery like over a year. Can I send you a picture of what I'm talking about. I need to find out if it can be fixed. If I can finally have great looking lips without being embrassed.

I have attached photo for you to see about what I'm talking about. I understand you do phone conversation. Will this photo suffice. If so, and you have some recommendations let me know so I can set up appointment to speak w/you. Let me know if I need to send more pictures.
Thank you for your time-Elizabeth

this photo is good enough and you should benefit from a upper lip reduction. could you provide a history of what you have had done and why? did you have a cleft lip? what are those scars going on? if you want to set up a phone consultation, just give my office a call: 972-312-8188.

Dr. Lam
My first surgery i had done because my upper lip was protruding so he did incisions on the inside of my lip.
Then I went to another surgeon he added some length between the nose and lining of the lip because he said it was too short and should get rid of the protruding upper lip. I don't think it did then we had some fat grats on the upper lip and he raised up both corners of my upper lip and did some work on cupid bows. Then I told him my left side was higher than the right so the last surgery I had was he lowered part of my left upper lip. Then I had some cortisone shots for swelling. i think that's it. So, at this point I'm just thinking so many operations and this is the result. Not what I was hoping for. So I hope this history helps.
So, you think you can help me? I have scars inside my lip and all on top as you can see from the picture. Will these scars have an impact on anything else that is done?
If you do have solutions, how do I go about hearing them.
How do I get started? Just call to make a phone appointment?
After that, I will still need to meet with you in person to finalize?
Thank you so much Dr. for your time
I hope to hear back from you

here is how to do it. call my office to arrange a phone consultation and if you would like even a surgical date (which you can always cancel). then on the day of the procedure we have some time set aside for me to review your case in person before we proceed.

the only risk of having so many previous surgeries is that you may have some delayed healing and prolonged swelling. that could happen but is not high likelihood. the goal is not symmetry (which as you know is part of the reason you are in this situation to begin with so don't chase symmetry) but to make your lip look more natural. if you try to get the lip more symmetrical (which i will try but do not focus on that or you will be unhappy), then i will fail you. look forward to take care of you. just call my office to start.
