This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)
it is safe. the question is it effective? if it is a hard lump then it can break the scar tissue and in many cases resolve the problem. if it is a soft lump, i.e., just an excess of fat, then it will not work and you need to remove the fat surgically. best, sml

According to my doctor 5FU injection for fat graft is not FDA cleared. Instead he suggested "crushing down manually" method which sounds a bit barbari. I'm so confused...I just want the lump to go away! Do you still recommend Dr Hoenig for LA residents? Plz advise. Thanks!
yes, for 5fu if that is what you need then yes he is good for that if you live there. the question of not FDA approved is a total joke of a comment. we use products as physicians all the time that are not "fda cleared" so long as they are fda cleared in the body and the physician explains the risks, benefits, and limitations of the product for you. like botox is only cleared for between the eyes, but i use it all over the face. rogaine is only fda cleared for the crown but i use it over the entire head. the crushing technique to me makes no sense but that is something you have to research or ask your doctor about. i have no idea what he is talking about. best, sml
