hey doctor lam. I have spoken with you several times before and now I'm so ready to have this lip procedure done. I understand this is a short procedure and I was wondering since I'm pregnant can I still have this done. This is a great time for me to do it why I have the money and not working. Please tell me it's possible, I'm five months pregnant. Also I want to consider the keloid surgery. I had surgery twice when I was younger and they came back both times. I want them gone forever. I know having the lip procedure surgery will give me a lot more confidence.
so sorry. i cannot operate on a pregnant woman. you must deliver first then we can talk. sorry about that but that is absolutely unsafe. best, sml

any time an injection with lidocaine and epinephrine is performed there is possible risk. in our current society, medico-legal issues prevent a surgeon from doing elective surgery on a pregnant woman no matter what the risk is. if i did your surgery and there were any problems with your fetus, i would not stand a chance in court. no reasonable surgeon would operate on a pregnant woman no matter how small the treatment if it is purely elective surgery. i don't even do fillers and botox on a pregnant woman. even though the risk is probably small, there is no reason to take any risk.

ok I guess that was a crazy question but I still want to come to your office so you can look at them and give me an estimate of the cost. I seen your work and I really been wanting to do this for the past two years. My baby is do in June so I will just wait a couple of months after, but I still need to know how much money to save in put back for this surgery. I don't really know the cost of this procedure.
hi, i look forward to take care of you. please email my staff regarding costs. you can email info@lamfacialplastics.com. please allow a few days for response. best, sml

thanks so much for the quick response, I can't wait to have this done. If I wasn't pregnant, I would schedule an appointment next month. I live right in Irving TX and I have the extra cash to do this. I have been struggling with huge lips for years and now I'm finally ready to do something about it. I know that I'm talking to the right Dr. to help me. I will be comming to you for both procedures lip and keloid removal. Maybe this time they want come back. This would be my third surgery with having the keloids removed from the back of my ear.
you need to schedule radiation with the keloid surgery within 24 hours or it will fail again. that is something you have to plan 5 days for here in dallas if you don't live here. all of this should be coordinated a few months in advance if possible due to my schedule and the schedule of the radiation doctor. the radiation could be covered by insurance but unfortunately my component is not. even before you give birth if you are thinking about having this done earlier than later think about doing a phone consultation and scheduling things if you like unless of course the budget is the issue then wait for that. watch this video to understand what i am talking about regarding the need for radiation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZ_KabJSewI best, sml

hi Dr. Lam recently accidently had some dry skin on my lower lip which I tried to remove by licking my lip and it grew to 3 times its size and then I do not know what happened by upper lip grew as well. I m 21 years old now and my jaw and teeth have stopped growing so my lips are tucked in to its original size because the lip line only exposes so much. However, my lip are very loose and hard to control them and smile. The outer parts of the lips exposed to air become dry and rip quite often everytime I smile, but the top and bottom lips are both proportional to each other. Can you please let me know the cost, quality of the procedure, and your recommendations.
i am a bit confused on what you are describing. if you are just talking about dry chapped lips, a lip reduction won't fix that. you need a moisturizer or evaluation by a dermatologist. if you are bothered by the size principally, then a lip reduction can help. for costs, please email info@lamfacialplastics.com or for faster service just call my office 972-312-8188. best, sml
