upper lip scar bitten by a dog

Postby fatlips » Mon Feb 21, 2011 11:06 am

Hi Dr. Lam,

I got bitten by a dog 5days ago and it leaves a scar on my upper lip and makes my lips looks uneven.
What treatment should i get to make it back to normal?
Can Laser treatment diminished the scar?
Or is there any cream that can help to minimize it?

Thankyou so much for your help!

obviously, the best advice should be given by someone who sees you in person. however, in general, keeping a wound moist for the first week with an antibiotic cream can be important to let things heal. i do not think laser treatments will help in my opinion. after 10 days from the injury, a silicone coating may help like kelo-cote or scar guard. hope that helps.
best,
sml
