Greetings Dr Lam, I am someone who is living with a harelip or cleft lip currently, and would simply like to ask your opinion on some things, hopefully you can do me this huge favour and share your knowledge.

Firstly, I would like to know if a cupid's bow shape can be brought about from a repaired unilateral cleft lip, and, if there are procedures that can bring about a normal shaped lip from cleft lip.

Next, I would like to inquire about the possibility of scar removal, I have heard that with laser surgery or some other form of surgery, scars can be removed, is this possible?

Finally, is the question that has been on my mind for as long as I can remember, are there surgeries out there that can completely erase any visible or prominent trace of cleft lip?

I eagerly await your opinions on this matter, to shed some light on this burdensome questions, so please do me a favour and don't spare me the details. Cheers.

first i am not a cleft lip specialist. i would always defer to someone who does cleft lips. however, i do do scar revisions on cleft lips and various other lip scars. i can improve the scar in many cases but not erase the scar (i do not think anyone can do that) or create a perfect cupid's bow. most likely you would have to do that with a filler after a scar revision but i would have to see your situation.
