Mole Scar

Postby Bayazid » Sun Dec 19, 2010 6:12 pm

Hello Dr. Lam
Watched several videos of you on youtube and came across your site :)
My name is Omar, I'm 19 year old.
Just before I graduate HS I had my mole removed, I got interested at facial mole removing right after i watched a video of this lady that got few mole removed by you on youtube. I did research a lot before I removed them.
I removed them my self, they weren't that big, were medium size. I used "Warts and Mole Vanish".
It done it's job by removing my mole but at the same time burning surrounding skin and few layer deep! My scar is actually 2x larger then my mole was. It's been 6 month since the removal, I'm using Silicone Scar Sheet as a treatment to improve the texture of the scar. Do you think they will improve over time? Do you recommend a Scar Revision? I'll include picture of both scar.

Right Cheek.
ImageOn this pic you see those little hole on my face. I have no idea how they formed? They don't look that bad unless I come really close to mirror like 7 inch. There are few on my cheek and bunch of tinny right on my forehead around eyebrows.

This one is on my right cheek

I know it doesn't look so clear on picture, but look bad few feet away with naked eye. It's been a six month, i hear facial skin takes long time to heal. What do you recommend, what's the best way to get them remove?
What will be the cost for what procedure.
I live in NJ too far away for Dallas.
Here is a full picture of me. You can see that red mark on my left cheek. Several feet away doesn't look so bad.

hmmm, i have no perfect advise since you really should see a physician in person for a consultation. generally, ideally one should wait a year before scar revision. if you do a scar revision you will then have a line that has to be heal perfectly well to make it hard to see. may not be worth it. a physician has to see you in person to help make that decision. sometimes dermabrasion (not microderm) could help but again a doctor should see you in person to decide that.
best,

Thank you for the advise. I guess I'll see local physician around this summer which will be complete one year. On the first picture though you see those little hole like scar on my face. Do you have any idea how they formed? No one in my family have that. Is it genetic? or happened over time due to skin damage?

Anyway, would you recommend any type of at home skin peel? Like very light skin peel with remove dead skin cell. I saw few online and read few costumer review. Do these skin peel affect the scar good away for bad way? Just want to hear your suggestion :)

Thx for your time.

1. no idea how a hole on your face formed if it is unrelated to your treatment. we all get little bumps and holes that develop for no apparent reason.
2. i have no skin peel recommendations. skin peel at home most likely should not affect a scar one way or another.
best,
