Hi there! I got an L-shaped silicone implant removed because it shifted to the right side. The doctor replaced it with ear cartilage. The silicone implant gave me a shiny appearance in my skin. But now that I have it removed...my skin there is still shiny. Is there any chance that the shininess will go away since the silicone is not there anymore? What causes the shininess? Thanks!
hi, unfortunately, that shininess probably will not go away. the reason for it is a change in the blood supply to the overlying skin caused by the intervening silicone implant when it was there. it could come back to normal over time but it is not very likely. sorry to inform you of that. best, sml
