Overcorrection.

Postby Lucas88 » Wed Dec 15, 2010 7:48 am

Exactly 7 weeks ago I had an otoplasty and so far I'm not satysfied with results. At the beginning I was worried that they were totally pinned back to head but they slightly got out, not that much but still it's better than nothing. They also look like they got out more at the bottom but those things don't bother me the most. The biggest problem is that right ear is closer to the head. Antihelix looks and feels more curved, squezed, fatter and stiffer than on the other ear. While looking in the mirror I can't see the Helix, just little part of it at the top. The back of the ear is slightly turned toward the ear. While signing documents and accepting their rules I've read that the final result will be seen 3 months after operation but I'm really worried that they wont look good at all. Actually I am more self-concious than I was before op and I really don't feel good about myselfe. Should I wait till 3 month pass and go to see doctor and set up revision (atleast try), or should I go as fast as possible, or maybe they will look good after longer period of time than 3 months?
Best regards.

i cannot speak for another doctor's work. however, i can say that if the ears do not relax, it is very hard to correct overcorrected ears. it is however relatively easy to retighten ears that have loosened a bit. that is why i do not overcorrect them.
