After otoplasty (right after surgery when I was given a mirror to take a look at my new ears), I noticed that my antitraguses became more prominent than before surgery. Is this normal (swelling or something), or is this going to stay that way? My surgeon said everything looked the way it was supposed to, but I still was a bit abashed by the looks of prominent antitraguses, or maybe I simply don't know how the normal ear is supposed to look... not sure. My ears are still covered in bandages (7 days post operation) so I can't see anything, but should I be worried if antitraguses remain enlarged after bandages are removed, or is this really supposed to be that way? Thank you.
in my patients i do not see enlarged antitraguses. i also only bandage my patients for one day. you really have to ask your surgeon since he would know the best what is normal or abnormal in his hands. best, sml
