upper eyelid hollowness

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

upper eyelid hollowness

Postby matcha695 » Wed Oct 06, 2010 1:52 am

Dear Dr Lim,

I think I have a deficiency of orbital fat behind the orbital septum of the upper eyelid, along with some fat loss under my eyes along the orbital bone. I was wondering where fat could be added to help the situation. Can fat ever be safely and effectively injected into the eyelids themselves? The top part of my upper eyelids, the part below the eyebrow seems loose or deflated. I do not want to take the risk of getting a fat graft directly above the eye.

I hope my question and description makes sense.

I am 45 and have no experience with cosmetic or facial surgery.

Sincerely thank you very much for answering everyone's questions!

Evan

your lower eyelids and your midface and lower face look much hollower than your upper eyelids do. yes, i can fill your upper eyelids and brow but i would not fill that much because they would look too heavy since your brows are on the low side. so if your principal concern is the upper eyelid i would not do a fat transfer but if your principal concern is the whole face plus the upper eyelid then yes you are a very good candidate for fat transfer.
best,
