Lip Injury - ball appears on lip when smiling

Postby idiom » Wed Sep 01, 2010 4:12 am

Just came across this forum whilst searching what to do for my 6 year old son.

He fell over 18 months ago and one of his upper teeth went through the lower lip. He was taken to hospital but was advised to let the lip heal natuarally.

The cut is not particularly noticeable from the outside but on the inside the scar tissue does protrude and I'm afraid one of these days he is going to bite on it and make matters worse. The other thing that concerns me is his smile. When he does so a small ball appears around the region where the trauma took place.

Can you please tell me what options are out there for addressing these. Any advise would be much appreciated.
