revision after korean micro incision technique

Postby megalodon » Mon Aug 02, 2010 1:04 am

Hi dr Lam

im not satisfied with my crease created by the korean micro incision technique
this technique makes 3 tiny incisions on each eyelid and then 3 sutures are waven vertically on the tarsal plate wich created the crease

if i went for revision ,,the full incisional type ,,
do these sutures have to be removed ? from the korean micro incision technique ?
another girl on a forum told me that these sutures could be absorbed and causes adhesion ??

(i want to lower my fold by 1mm ,, also i want more permanency of the crease)

typically, if this is a suture based technique without an incision, it is almost like not having anything done in the past. In general, but not always, it is not too hard to fix. i would have to review your case. the sutures typically do not have to be removed but they can be if i see them when the case is being done.

actually i do had some kind of incisions made on my eyelid
3 on each eyelid

here is the article i found

This method combines the advantages of the two methods previously discussed. It is also the most sophisticate upper eyelid surgery. The method is to open 3 approximately 0.3mm small incision spots above the eyelid, then using microsurgery instruments to enter the incisions and then separating apart the subcutaneous tissue. After that the stitches are accurately fixed on the tarsal. Not only the incision is smaller, but also the recovery is quicker and quickly and will not have the risk of loosening in the future.

what about the scar tissue created by the stitches also known as adhesion
will that be a problem when having full incisional revision?
i hope it will be a easy revision

Thnx

that is hard to say given the fact that it seems like it is a hybrid approach. you might want to ask your doctor that question.
