fat transfer hands

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

fat transfer hands

Postby brandyace » Fri Jul 09, 2010 12:38 pm

Hi Dr. Lam:

Had fat transfer done for hands and feet about 5 years ago....I had some lipo on my abs and the surgeon harvested the fat and put it in my hands. The surgeon actually did 2 transfers, once at the time of lipo, then about a month later. Absolutely loved the results.

However, the transfers are beginning to wear out...am now seeing the veins in my hands returning. And would love to have them back to where they were previously.

What do you suggest and what would be involved in getting my hands re-rejuvanated?

Thanks much.

if it is a lot of aging, then another fat transfer. if not, then restylane but obviously that would be temporary.

Thanks, Dr. Lam. Would like to touch up both hands and feet. Last time I had lipo along with it which gave enough fat for injections. But, this time don't need lipo. How will you get the necessary fat? Do I need to go under anesthesia? Can it be done in your office? How long does the procedure usually take?

hi,
yes i can do it. i don't do feet, as i have not done that. with hands, i rebuild the fingers, knuckles, back of the hands and blend that into the sides of the hands. i prefer general anesthesia but could do it under sedation. it is done in my surgery center attached to my office. it takes about 2 hours. for pricing and scheduling, call my office 972-312-8188 or 888-866-3388. hope that helps.
best,
sml
