incision inside the mouth

Postby hamster » Mon Jun 07, 2010 12:03 pm

Hi Dr Lam

What do you think of the procedure which the incision and sutures are
perform inside mouth?
how can you assure that the lips will be reduced?
will the after surgery look be the end result or it will changed?

i believe that type of procedure fails almost every time. i reduce the dry and wet lip in proportion to their excess and create a new dry-wet-lip interface when you reduce just wet lip and try to roll the dry lip in, you do not have predictable improvement and too much dry lip sitting inside the mouth.
best,

it looks like the right is overlapping the bottom lip
. would you be able to correct that?

I had that procedure too - just a month ago, on 17 September 2010 and i like the result.
But Ihave had this surgery for another reason: my surgeon tryed to strech (to reduise) my lip cleft depth, wich was too large and too plate (after my ancien rhinoplasty 15 years ago) My scar is in the mouth, very well heals in 3 weeks, I can smile again, and don't feel any discomfort with my lips.
So, the Goal to reduise my lip cleft space has been attained, but unfortunately, it doesn't change anything to my too long space between nose and upper lip.
I guess, only bullhorn technology can help it......

i'm glad it worked for you. in my hands i find it more unreliable to reduce a lip size when going entirely inside the mouth and it can make the lip look unnaturally rounded if you take too much tissue out or are trying to reduce the lip by a large margin.
