I had an upper/lower bleph in June of 2009. Fat was removed from my lower lids which has left my eyes, more particularly my right eye, hollow showing a very deep tear trough. When I pull my skin taut it appears to go away, so I'm wondering if placing filler on my upper cheekbone beneath my lower lid would work better than filling the tear trough itself or would I benefit from both? I had a revision to my upper lids for continued hooding so the picture I'm attaching shows residual bruising from that procedure but I wanted to show you the issue I'm having so it would help with your response. Thanks for your help.

hi, if you want a targeted filling of a specific area, fillers like Restylane are the most reliable method, albeit temporary (and we can do both the tear trough and the cheek). if you want a permanent solution that would help with the brow, tear trough, and cheek and other facial zones, fat is the best solution. i would welcome a consultation to discuss the matter with you when you are ready. best, sml

Hello Dr. Lam and thank you so much for your reply! I would definitely prefer a permanent solution eventually, but for now I'm interested in a dermal filler. In your opinion based on looking at my photo, do you believe filler to my cheeks under my lower lid would lessen the appearance of the hollows under my eyes, which is what REALLY bothers me. I won't be able to schedule an appt. until the Christmas holidays but for now am just curious as to your opinion about my eyes/cheeks.
Thank you for being helpful to so many on this site. I've watched your videos and your presentations and I am very impressed and admire you tremendously - and of course respect your opinion.
just to clarify: filling under the eyes will help the hollowness under the eyes. filling the cheeks will help with the hollowness in the cheeks. those are two discrete areas, both of which would benefit you. look forward to take care of you in the future. best, sml
