hollow temple area

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

hollow temple area

Hello Dr. Lam,
I have read your blog and this forum for a while. Thanks a lot for this great website!
I am a 36 years old Asian woman. My temple area has been hollow since I lost very much weight last year. and the hollow seems worse. I found a post at this forum discussed about hollow temple. I would like to know if you still are very conservative about filling this area?
one more question, if I call your office next week for an appointment, what is the earliest date to meet you?

hi,
i am always worried about filling a temple with fat transfer as an isolated treatment because it may not be enough difference to make it worth while. watch my video on the 5% rule:

plus, if you have recently lost a lot of weight, i am always worried you will gain it back then you will be dealing with a lump in the temple. fat is safe so long as you don't gain the weight afterward. i honestly think the safest answer maybe a filler there instead.

of course, i would be happy to see you to decide. as far as when i can get you in, i have no idea. my staff will have to give you that info. :)
best,
sml
