Hi Dr. Lam. I had microlipo to my neck approx. one year ago. Unfortunately, the Dr. removed all of the fat in my chin also.(microlipo) I will be having a chin implant to compensate for the loss in the lower part, but I am wondering if fat could be added to the other hollow regions?.. Thanks in advance.
honestly, i do not know if fat transfer or a chin implant are the answers. a filler (temporary or permanent) may be better options to target a specific loss. a chin implant may make the area bonier in appearance, which may not be desirable but i would have to see you to decide. fat transfer is great to make the overall face look younger and more attractive, including the chin but it can be unreliable to fix one small little area of the face. if you want to work on the chin in conjunction with the face using fat then that makes sense but fat has a hard time fixing one small area perfectly and reliably.
