BTW, finished Murakami's (what a writer) The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle--anything but pedestrian! Found myself talking to the author out loud near ch. 39, ? saying "NOOO!" (Toru was again in the well, seemingly vanquished...) You know a book's good when you're yelling to yourself, I think.
