IPL after Fat Transfer

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

IPL after Fat Transfer

Postby Sillyme702 » Wed Apr 07, 2010 3:26 pm

Hello Dr. Lam,

I had your fat graph procedure done back in early November. I loved the results at that time, I am sure due to some swelling, for a few weeks after procedure. I have lost a lot of that 'fullness' and am almost back to where I was initially. I understand that apparently there is a dip in results. When should I expect for it to return and does it look similar to the initial results? Also, I have a bit of Roseacea on my cheeks, would an IPL disturb my transfer? And I also had some filler placed on the bridge of my nose (not with silicone, with ?, love the way it looks by the way) will an IPL disturb the filler in this area? Or would you suggest something else for the treatment of Roseacea?
Thank you,
kl

1. yes, you are in a dip. it should start to improve at 6 months and beyond but it will be slight and gradual moving upward. i hope you are taking serial photos because you will not remember what you used to look like beforehand. that is important for comparison if you don't live in dallas.
2. IPL should not be an issue. i would not necessarily do a very intense one like a Palomar at a high setting. just a light IPL for rosacea. i use a ktp which works really well but many IPLs do the trick.
best,
