lips reduction!

Postby guitarpix » Tue Mar 23, 2010 11:31 pm

Hello, Dr. Lam. I have came across you while I'm considering the possibility of a lip reduction procedure. I'm of Asian descent in my 20's. What is your professional idea of how I can get a smaller(proportional to my facial feature) lips? Below is a pic. I also sent you a full headshot of my normal lips and a few where I want the lips to look like.

1) Despite a little unintentional skewing of the upper lips when I suck them in, do you think the position of the lips in my wanted lips 1 and 2 pictures look natural and proportional thus looking good? In my opinion, that is what I want my lips to look like.

2) Would I be able to get that look of the lips from wanted lips picture 1 and 2 with your help?

Thanks!

although i cannot promise you exactly the morphed images, yes you appear to be a good candidate and i should be able to improve your result toward what you are looking for.

HI, Dr. Lam, in the two pics where my lips are thinner, I didn't do any image morphing but just tighten and suck in my lips, as I usually do to appear to have thinner lips. Just fyi. So according to what you said in the pm, I need to have both the upper and lower lips operated right? Would there need to be lot of incision to achieve the kinda thinner lips I'm looking for? How do you go about showing the desired/to-be-expected lips during consultation?

1. yes, it appears you would benefit from both lips reduced.
2. the incision is across the length of the lip to adequately remove the extra lip tissue, which heals typically quite well.
3. during the consultation i use my finger and point to the degree of reduction, which i then draw out for you right before the procedure to confirm we are on the same page.
best,

Hi, Dr. Lam, so you would draw the area to be removed on my lips to show how much will be removed but I'm asking if I could somehow see what my post-procedure lips would look like via something during the consultation or is that impossible to get a preview of what the expected lips would look like except to wait and see it a few months post-procedure? I guess I'm just asking if there is some kind of a preview of what my post-operation lips would look like during the consultation. Thanks, doc.

no, only drawing the lip line where the lip would be and your being able to then see the proposed degree of lip that would remain.

Oh! So you would draw the shape of the expected lips on my lips, right? So the drawn line would be below the upper lips line and above the lower lips line, right? Also, just to make sure, the consultation and procedure can be done in the same day? I'm from out of state and I would like to just drop in, get the procedure, and get back. Would your staff be able to provide me with info on the trip there such as hotel, transportation to your office, etc...? I'm flying in and wouldn't want to get lost or have a hard time finding my way to your office and get back home. Thanks!
