Reconstruction

Postby thaitex » Mon Mar 22, 2010 3:01 pm

Hi Doc,
went to Thailand many years ago and they did a silcone solid bridge. A couple of years ago it started to come out the form of my nose and I had it removed. this left a small bumpy scar at the tip of my nose and the front of the nose slanted up. looking like a pig nose. I am thai and have a normal nose but no bridge and my nose has the wider nostril area like a Polynesian type nose. I know not seeing me you can not give a possible cost. i was planning on going back to Thailand and having it done right this time. A cost of around $2000. I also heard of going to Mexico or Costa Rica to save money. Thoughts?

I have included a picture but please do not post this with the picture.

ok, i have deleted the picture file. to be honest, your contracted nose is not an easy thing to fix. 2000 most likely will not cover your expenses reasonably. to put a silicone implant in a nose i used to charge that price because it took me ten minutes to put in. i hated the results and no longer use them. to improve but not fix the situation entirely it would probably be 4x that cost and it would not be easy to do. it would require septal grafts, etc. to pull down the nose. it is a very complex procedure.
best,
sml
