prior lipo - enough fat?

This section of the forum is dedicated to discussions on various surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation, including fat transfer/fat grafting, browlift, blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), facelift, etc. Also, this category includes questions on hand rejuvenation via fat grafting. (Of note, Dr. Lam does not perform body rejuvenation except for hand fat grafting)

prior lipo - enough fat?

Postby mary85 » Tue Jan 01, 2008 3:35 pm

Dr. Lam,

I'm interested in facial fat grafting, but I had lipo 2 years ago that was fairly agressive and actually left some dents in a few places. I am concerned that I might not have enough of the fat that you call the best (belly and thighs). I do have fat in my inner thighs, under my breasts , my back and underarms. I'd like to see you in person, but I live in Kentucky and I'd like to know your thoughts before scheduling an appointment and planning a trip.
Thanks,
Mary85

Typically, I should have no problem. I get fat from the inner thighs, lower back, and triceps all the time. Also, I can hopefully help fill in your liposuction dents with fat grafting. I have had some good success. Even though I don't do body work, I do fix other people's body work with fat grafting.

Ideally, I meet with you in person for a consultation but I can do a phone consult (which is not ideal), and I have you sign a waiver that indicates that limitation. I look forward to speak with you and to take care of you in the future. My toll free line is 888-866-3388. We are open 9 to 5 M-F CDT.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
best,
sml
